Municipal Public Institution“Museums”, Kotor organizes a programme“All Inclusive Open Days” – counselling on the participation of persons with disabilities in thecultural life of the town of Kotor. The event will be held within the “European Heritage Days” in accordance with this year’s topic “Heritage:All Inclusive”, in the Gallery of Solidarity in Kotor, on Friday, 1st October, beginning at 13 h.
MA Božidar Bobo Denda[Bozhidar Bozho Denda], directorof our Library will give his lecture at this event. The goal of the programme, according to the hosts, is to emphasise the role of the cultural institutionswith regards to the cultural inclusion of persons with visual impairments and persons with disabilities in general. It will be discussed on how cultural institutions on the local and national levels can make their programmes more quality and accessible to these persons and how to strengthen this categoryof users to take part in the cultural life of their local communities. Representatives of the Municipal Public Institution “Museums”, Kotorpoint out that it is especially worthwhile to make these cultural institutions, i.e. their facilities and programmes closer, more familiar and friendly to persons with disabilities. The representatives of the Museums, Kotor believe that such approach would be the first step in animating their fellow citizens to take a quality participation in the cultural life of their town and towards furtherstrengthening and encouragementfor unhindered defining of their cultural needs.
