In the novel “Pustolovine bačkog opsenara”, the narrator, a fifty-year old train dispatcher, addresses a biography reconstruction ofhis possible ancestor Dimitrije Vujić [DeemeetryehVooyich], the main character of this story, an unusual man, adventurer, careerist and a liarfrom the middle of the XVIII century. Indirectly, by reconstructing the detailsof a mysterious and insufficiently clear story of another man, the narrator makes a review of his own life, or better still, his own feeling of life. The character of DimitrijeVujić, a Casanova and Adventurer from Bačka [Barchkah], is based on scanty documents and family traditionwith the intention to understand his role in court intrigues along European courts where he often assumed very influential positions.
