Our Library organized an award ceremony on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026, in the “Miličko Miketić” [Milichko Miketich] assembly hall, for the winners of the literary competition in the category of high school students, on the topic “The Library: A Treasure Trove of Books and Trust”, organized on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of The Library of Accessible Formats of Montenegro “Vojislav Minić” [Voyislav Mineech].
From a large number of submitted works by high school students from several towns in Montenegro, a three-member jury, consisting of: Miljan Nikolić [Milyan Nikolich], writer and literary critic from Podgorica – chair of the jury, Ivana Nikitović [Ivana Nikitovich], professor of literature from Podgorica – member and Hana Dubak [Hannar Doobak], librarian of The Library of Accessible Formats of Montenegro “Vojislav Minić” [Voyislav Mineech] from Podgorica – member, chose three essays that stood out.
The first place was won by the work of Anđela Todorović [Andyela Todorovich], a student of the third grade of the Prva srednja stručna škola [Perva srednya stroochna shkola] (First Vocational High School) from Nikšić, the second place went to Hana Hadžibegović [Hannar Hadzhibegovich], a student of the first grade of the Srednja stručna škola [Srednya stroochna shkola] (Vocational High School) from Bar, while the work of Dragan Kadrić [Dragan Kadrich], a student of the second grade of the Gymnasium “Slobodan Škerović” [Slobodan Shkerovich] from Podgorica, took third place.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the director of the Library, Božidar Denda [Bozhidar Dairnda], MS, addressed those present, expressing joy and gratitude for the interest in the competition, particularly highlighting the awarded works in which the students demonstrated a wealth of talent and literary maturity. The director thanked the awarded students, Anđela Todorović [Andyela Todorovich] from Nikšić, Hana Hadžibegović [Hannar Hadzhibegovich] from Bar, and Dragan Kadrić [Dragan Kadrich] from Podgorica, wishing them much success in their future literary work.
Words of gratitude were also extended to the teachers of the Montenegrin-Serbian, Bosnian, and Croatian language and literature of the awarded students, Andrijana Jovović Bulajić [Andreeyana Yovovich Boolayich], Valentina Radonjić [Valenteena Radonich], and Violeta Zečević [Violeta Zechevich], whose effort and dedication stand behind the achievements of their students.
The program continued with an address by Miljan Nikolić [Milyan Nikolich], chair of the Jury, who read the explanation, in which it was stated, among other things, that the awarded essays were selected for their clear response to the competition topic, primarily for their conciseness, well-structured sentences, stylistic techniques of a high level, contemporary understanding of the modern position of the library, poetic quality, and rich linguistic expression.
After the explanation was read, the jury chair presented the awards to the second-place winner Hana Hadžibegović [Hannar Hadzhibegovich] and third-place winner Dragan Kadrić [Dragan Kadrich], highlighting the specific qualities of their works and encouraging them to continue developing their prose and poetic expression, after which the students read their works.
Since the first-place winner Anđela Todorović [Andyela Todorovich] was absent for justified reasons, her work was read by librarian Hana Dubak [Hannar Doobak], who also hosted and moderated the award ceremony.
