Our Library is proud to inform the public that its proposal “Smart library: Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Creation of Accessible Publications” successfully passed the first stage of the Programme for Financing Innovative Solutions in the Public Sector – GovTech, which is implemented by the Innovation Fund of Montenegro in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Administration.
The proposal of the Library was evaluated with 4.5 out of a possible 5 points, thus recognizing it as a high-quality, socially significant and innovative challenge aimed at improving digital accessibility and modernizing public services.
This result confirms the importance of introducing modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence, in the work of cultural and educational institutions, with the aim of providing equal access to knowledge, information and publications to people with visual impairments.
In the second phase of the GovTech programme, the Innovation Fund will issue a public call for innovative companies and scientific research institutions, which will offer concrete technological solutions for selected challenges of the public sector.
Financial support of up to 200,000 euros will be provided for the best solutions, and The Montenegro Library for Persons with Visual Impairments will participate as a partner in the development, testing and implementation of the solution, ensuring that it is fully adapted to the needs of the users.
Moving into the second phase of the GovTech programme represents an important step towards creating a smart, digitally transformed and inclusive library, where technology serves people and contributes to equal opportunities for all.
