Our library participated in the jubilee 20th International Podgorica Book and Education Fair, which was held from May 11th to 17th, 2026, in the garage of the Big Fashion shopping centre in Podgorica, under the slogan GRADimo kulturu [GRADeemo kooltoo-ru] (BUILDing culture).

This is the ninth participation of our Library in this important cultural event. Our Library also had its own stand this year, where visitors were presented with publications in accessible formats, as well as activities that the institution implements in the field of cultural accessibility.

As part of the fair program, the Library organized two significant promotions to mark twenty years of the institution’s work.

On Thursday, May 14th, in the “Marko Miljanov” [Marko Milyanov] fair hall, the promotion of the “The Word of Contemporary Writers of Montenegro: 20 writers for 20 years” publication, published on the occasion of the Library’s jubilee, was held. The writer Budimir Dubak [Boodimeer Doobak] spoke about the edition, while the writers represented in this publication recited their verses: Radomir Uljarević [Radomeer Oolyarevich], Miljan Nikolić [Milyan Nikolich] and Budimir Dubak [Boodimeer Doobak]. The verses of the poet Ranko Jovović [Ranko Yovovich], were recited by Nikola Zekić [Nikola Zekich] MA. The program was moderated by librarian [Hannar Doobak].

A day later, on Friday, May 15th, in the Chamber Hall of the Music Centre of Montenegro, the promotion of the monograph “The First Library of Accessible Formats 2006-2026”, authored by Aleksandr Ćuković [Alexandahr Chookovich], MA, was held. Tamara Vujović [Tamara Voyovich], Ph.D., Minister of Culture and Media, Jelisaveta Blagojević [Yelisaveta Blagoyevich], Ph.D., reviewer of the monograph from the Historical Institute of Montenegro, Zdravko Vukčević [Zdravko Vookchevich], Ph.D., president of the Library Council, Aleksandar Ćuković [Alexandahr Chookovich], MA, author, and Božidar Denda [Bozhidar Dairnda], MA, director of the Library, spoke about the monograph. The program was moderated by librarian [Hannar Doobak].

By participating in the jubilee book fair, our Library continued to promote the importance of equal access to culture, marking two decades of its work and development.
