A WORD OF THE EDITRESS

Dear readers,

You have, before you, the jubilee, 50th issue of the magazine “Tačke kulture” [tatchkeh kooltoureh] (Cultural Points), an edition that represents something special for us, not just a number in a row, but a confirmation of continuity, commitment and the common path we are building with you through culture, knowledge and the written word. We are proud to have reached this common celebration of the written word, staying true to the mission of making culture close and accessible to all.

The From the Library section is filled with tradition and new beginnings. While through the “The Magical Suitcase” we teach the youngest about the legends of Perast, through the promotion of the lexicon “Architecture at Your Fingertips”, and new titles in Braille, we remind you that culture has no barriers. We also celebrated World Book Day, because certainly, every day in our Library is a celebration of literature.

In the Cultural Heritage section, we travel from emotion to history. We bring the story of Gaga and Milena, a love that became a symbol of an era, and we also return to the roots of our literacy – to the day when Vuk’s orthography became our reality.

We have not forgotten about the contrasts that make up our world. From the pride that our Bay of Kotor is ranked among the most beautiful places on the planet, to the almost surreal news about camels and plastic surgery, the column The World Around Us and We in It reminds us how magnificent and absurd life can be. At the same time, we look to the future through the Challenges of the Contemporary Age, where science promises us healthier days with innovative methods of protection.

At the very end, let this jubilee issue be your moment to relax. Along with sharp aphorisms, sports and recipes, we have levelled up the entertainment section – try your hand at the mini-sudoku that we have prepared especially for this issue. We hope this little logic game will give you some extra fun and sharpen your mind.
