A WORD OF THE EDITRESS

Dear readers,

before you is the forty ninth issue of the magazine “Tačke kulture” [tatchkeh kooltoureh] (Cultural Points), in which we continue to carefully and dedicatedly record the encounters between literature, science, contemporary society and everyday life. Each new issue is an opportunity for us to remind ourselves how alive, dynamic and deeply embedded in time culture is.

In the From the Library section, we bring important news and events that marked the past period – from the donation to the “Radosav Ljumović” [Radosav Lumovich] National Library to the meeting with the writer Budimir Dubak [Boodimir Doobak], who visited our Library. A reception was held for Vice President Aleksić [Alekssich] and the writer Ćuković [Chukovich], confirming that the Library is a space for dialogue, meetings and cultural exchange.

In the section Cultural Heritage, we return to the roots and tradition – we look at Montenegro through the pen and eyes of Princess Ksenija Petrović Njegoš [Xerneeya Pehtrovich Neggosh].

The section In the World of Art and Culture brings the story of the creation of the controversial novel Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov – a work that still causes polemics, but also deep literary interpretations.

Within Scientific and Educational topics, we deal with research that confirms that reading physically changes our brain, but we also present the shortest intelligence test in the world – a small challenge for all curious minds.

There are also the standard sections The World Around Us and We in It and Challenges of the Contemporary Age, which bring stories that depict contemporary society, but also bring some new knowledge.

At the end, as always, we leave room for a break and a smile. The Trivia, Humour and Entertainment sections bring thoughts for every day, aphorisms, a selection of jokes, interesting facts, sports, recipes and enigmatic.

This time, we enriched the Enigmatic section with a new sub-section of Connectors. An interesting challenge awaits you in it – to connect famous artists with the countries they come from.

We remind you that our magazine is also available in PDF format on the website of the Online Library (www.onlinebiblioteka.net), because we believe that culture should be open and accessible to everyone.

Thank you for being part of our reading family. Your attention, curiosity and love for the written word give meaning to each new issue.

Sincerely,

Editress
