The Montenegro Library for Persons with Visual Impairments together with The Organization of Blind for Bar and Ulcinj will organize the screening of the film “Nebeska udica” [Nebesska Ooditsa] (Sky Hook), directed by Ljubiša Samardžić [Lubeesha Samardjich], in an adapted version for our users. The screening will be held in Rista Lekića Street, D10, on the12th December 2025 (Friday) at 18 o’clock.
Interactive adaptation of the film will be performed live by our associate Igor Tomić [Iggor Tomeech].
About the film:
“Nebeska udica” [Nebesska Ooditsa] (Sky Hook) is a Serbian film from 2000 directed by Ljubiša Samardžić [Lubeesha Samardjitch].
The film was a Serbian candidate for the Oscar, for the best non-English language film for the year 2000.
The film centres on the lives of people in Serbia dealing with the impact of the war. Most are not yet required to serve in the army, but they must continue living amid the ruins and the near-daily bombings. Although survival is the motto of those days, they strive to live as normal as possible and defy the ugly side of war. One day, it occurred to Kaja [Kaya], a former Yugoslav national team basketball player, to repair the basketball hall where they played before the bombing. Although the idea was accepted as crazy in such times, none of the young men from the area cared to spend the whole summer in shelters. All the youth, even the adults, parents and other observers of the things that take place on the streets, as well as the rival street gang, are attracted by the idea of repairing the hall and the basketball court.
