The Montenegro Library for Persons with Visual Impairments, in cooperation with the Organisation of the Blind for Bar and Ulcinj, organises an extraordinary screening of the film “Jorgovani” [yorgovani] (the lilacs), directed by Siniša Cvetić [Sinnishar Civairtitch], in an adapted version for our users. The screening will be staged in the premises of the Organisation of the Blind for Bar and Ulcinj, in Bar, ul. Rista Lekića D10 [ooleetsa reestah lekichah deh desset], on Tuesday, 17.12.2024 at 18h.
The screening of the film “Jorgovani” [yorgovani] (the lilacs), directed by Siniša Cvetić [Sinnishar Civairtitch], in an adapted version for our users, will be held in the hall of the Montenegro Library for Persons with Visual Impairments on Tuesday, the 26th November, beginning at 18 h.
Interactive adaptation of the film will be performed live by our associate Igor Tomić [Iggor Tomeech].
About the film:
“Jorgovani” [yorgovani] (the lilacs) is a Serbian romantic comedy of 2024. The festive premiere was staged within the competition programme of the 52nd Fest on the 27th February 2024. The cinema distribution was launched on the 29th February 2024.
“Jorgovani” are a satire, and satires are never only funny. The stars are people, and people are of all kinds. Igor [Iggor] and Katarina, the main roles of the melodrama series “Kad zamirišu jorgovani” [kad zamirishu yorgovani] (when the lilacs begin to smell), are together on the screen and out of it. Having gone blind by the camera flashes and deaf by the applauses, although inseparable, they have not heard or seen each other a long time… Until the award of the prizes for the best series of the year where all the crew will gather and where, together, they will discover that dirty underwear stinks more if it is branded.

Interesting facts
David Jakovljević [Darvid Yakovlevich] appears as a screenwriter on the film. He has previously stated that the very title of the film originated from the wish to get closer to the names of the novel writer Milica Jakovljević Mir-Jam [Millitsar Yakovlevich Meer-Yum], upon whose novels there have been produced series in which Sloboda Mićalović [Slobbodda Mitcharlovich] and Ivan Bosiljčić [Yvan Bossilchitch] really played. The title of the fictitious series for which the characters in the film won prizes is “Kad zamirišu jorgovani” [kad zamirishu yorgovani] (when the lilacs begin to smell). The authors have chosen such title form one more reason. Namely, the film producer Zoran Janković [Zorran Yankovich], at the beginning of his career, produced the music album of Dino Merlin of the same title.
