The monograph “Naša priča” [nasha preecha] (our story), by Zoran Poleksić [Zorran Poleksich], will be promoted on the book fair in the garage room of the “Delta city” Mall on Wednesday, 11th May 2022, beginning at 14 h.
Writer and journalist, MA Aleksandar Ćuković [Alexandahr Chukovich], President of the Library Council PhD Zdravko Vukčević [Zdravkor Vukchevich], author MA Zoran Poleksić [Zorran Poleksich] and the representative of the publisher MA Božidar Denda [Bozhidahr Dairnda] will talk about the monograph.
The monograph “Naša priča”, on 120 pages with 56 photographs in colour, tells about establishment of the Montenegro Library for Persons with Visual Impairments and about its 15 years of existence and work. That unique publication, the first of a kind in the region and Europe, gives and overview of the most relevant achievements, achieved results and current trends in the work of the Library so far, as well as its plans for the future.
The Library, as a reference national cultural institution, through an easy and colourful reading of Zoran Poleksić, becomes close and interesting in front of the astonished eyes of every reader. In a skilful and dynamic way, Poleksić introduces us to the Library’s world, making its mission, goals, way of working and its specific distinguishing features closer to us. A lifelike style of his narration experiences its climax in a virtual walk that he made possible for his readers walking, on behalf of all of them, from one Library section door to another, whereby he had not deprived us from any relevant detail from his interviews with its employees, users and associates.
This is a rare if not unique monograph with no dry statistics, tables and where a monotonous factography gave way to an interesting story that allures with its attractive narrative talent and quite unusual writing approach for the reading of this kind.
The monograph “Naša priča” was published by the Public Institution of the Montenegro Library for Persons with Visual Impairments last year. The book was out of print in April 2021, and later arranged both in audio format and in braille.
The Library is this year’s participant in the Podgorica [Podgoritsa] Book Fair – “Keeping no Distance with a Book”, with its stand displaying some of the publications from its book fund and providing information about its work and activities.
