The protagonist of this urban, robust and occasionally humorous story is the musician Zoran Popović [Zorran Popovich], with the stage name Džoni Kontra [Johnny Contra], whom Gula describes as a cynic, an egomaniac, a complex person, potty mouth, one-way, without any love or light, born to live in the Sozina tunnel. His alter ego is Džoni Polupjesnik [Johnny Polupyessnik] (Johnny the Half-Poet), a dreamer, an immature child who looks forward to life, people, spring, little things that can light up that dark tunnel with luck. All the time in this captivating novel written with every fibre of Gula’s poetic soul, two Johnnys are “at war”, with Johnny Kontra always being one step ahead. Everyone is forced to adapt to him, even his alter ego, or to give up on him.
The novel is set in Bar in the year 2000.
