The University of Montenegro (UCG) announced that its official web portal is aligned with modern standards of digital accessibility, which enables easier and more equal access to information for all citizens, especially people with impaired vision.
For users of our Library and other persons with visual impairments, this is of particular importance. Accessible pages now allow smooth use of screen readers, better structure of titles and text, clearly marked links, as well as alternative photo descriptions. In this way, information from the site becomes equally accessible to students, researchers and all interested persons, regardless of visual barriers.
Our institution welcomes UCG’s important step forward and believes that the improvement of digital accessibility will be an incentive for other institutions in Montenegro to follow this example. This strengthens inclusion and confirms the principle that the right to information must be equally accessible to everyone.
