02.10.2017. Library Hosted Its Associates and Users on “The Lilt Boat of Europe”

Our Library has held a one-day culture and artistic programme called “The Lilt Boat of Europe” on Saturday, 30th September 2017. The event was held on the boat which cruised for 3 hours on Skadar Lake on a sunny and pleasant day. The event is one of numerous programmes which were held in Montenegro and all over Europe within the European Heritage Days 2017.

The project is implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture. More than 50 participants enjoyed the educational and entertaining programme. A special musical programme was prepared for that occasion – a compilation of urban traditional folk music, popular songs, poetry, and an extract from the play “A Helpless Creature” of Anton Pavlovich Chekov. Short extracts from the play were told by the actors with visual impairments - Miljan and Bojana Otašević (pronunciation: Mil-yan and Boyana Otashevich), while Tijana Janjević (pronunciation: Tiana Yan-yevich) spoke the verses of a song “I loved you“ by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin.
Performance of a vocal group of young persons with visual impairments from Podgorica, who performed several songs of popular music and urban traditional folk music under artistic leadership of MMus Ljudmila Radović, caused  enthusiastic ovations and round of applause by the audience. The other performances of the programme have not been less noticeable: performance of the chamber ensemble “Good Mood”, which continued entertaining the attendees upon the closure of the official programme, as well as the performance of the literary authors and reciters – “Poetic Moment”.

The Library implements this project in cooperation with the NGO Culture Centre “Homer” from Podgorica. Upon the completion of the boat tour, the programme was continued with socialising and lunch in the restaurant “Pelinovo” on the Skadar Lake beach close to Vranjina. Transport by bus was organised for the return of the participants. Weather conditions were favourable which contributed to complete success of the programme.
